"Our experience of i-desks in a Children's Centre with children 6 months to 5 years has been very positive. On our old computers we had a number of repair bills due to children putting toys, paper clips, biscuits etc into disk drives. Staff would also decide they wanted to move computers to different parts of the classroom, causing major upheaval with wires trailing etc. There have been no such challenges with the i-desks, as we have a blanking plate over the CD drive and all the wires are neatly enclosed." i-desk Solutions at Calday Grammar School - a 1,200 pupil school, in the Library and for the Sixth Form area:

The school were looking for a different approach to IT; something safe, secure and that would give a multi functional space. i-desk worked closely with Calday Grammar School advising them on different layouts and where and how many power and data sockets would be needed. Calday

Solution: The old Library was brought into the 21st century and a mezzanine floor was added together with 33 i-desks. There are a mixture of classic and i-rise desks that allow the space to have dual functionality. The i-desk has been very successful in allowing the school to have a dual purpose space. The IT department were thrilled with the security the i-desk offers. This made the i-desk first choice when it came to providing IT for the unsupervised Sixth Form area. Calday Grammar School are currently looking for more i-desks and are upgrading their 2 year old desks.
