Maths in Motion - Welcome to the world of applied Maths!

I-desk award fastest Age Range 1 team at the Jaguar Maths in Motion Final – a hotly contested tournament with over 500 schools entering nationally in this (primary school) category alone – but then came the final of finals race!

The team finished second, just 12 second behind the Upper Secondary winning team. A phenomenal achievement which stands as a testament to the dedication of Bankfoot Primary School pupils who took part. The Upper Secondary and Lower Secondary Schools had hundreds of entries each which underlines their achievement - 24 of which were up against Bankfoot in the final!!

Starting with computer software simulations, this team from the school went all the way to the top by mastering the science of motor car manufacture in real life.

i-desk GREEN

The newest addition to the i-desk range, this is a super low power version! It runs at about 50% power consumption of our usual spec (which is already fairly low!)  this brings us in-line with other low power ECO solutions. Best of all this is an entirely SILENT solution!

The motherboard is an ASUS AT5NM10-I, which has an embedded 1.6GHz Dual Core ATOM processor. Motherboard DOES support Windows 7! This model has a 2GB Kingston HyperX 800Mhz DDR2 module in, but it can have another 2GB module, so 4GB maximum.

The standard i-desk Power Supply has been removed and instead a 100W open frame unit has been used. This too adds to the low power ECO effect and taken away the need for a PSU fan. We also don’t need case fans!

The hard disk has been replaced with a 30GB Kingston Solid State Disk (SSD). This is not only low power, it has no moving parts and creates very little overhead on the performance.  So it’s a truly silent solution and VERY fast!
